Utah State Route 154

Bangerter Highway, or Utah State Route 154, named after former Utah Governor Norman H. Bangerter, is an expressway running north to south beginning at Salt Lake City International Airport in Utah. Construction began in 1988 and the highway opened on November 17, 1998. It serves the rapidly-expanding population in the western and southern portions of Salt Lake Valley and to reduce congestion to and from the airport. From the airport's northwest position in the valley, the highway crosses I-80 and Utah State Route 201 and heads down to the city of Riverton in the valley's southwest. At that point, it turns to the east to join I-15 at the southern tip of the valley in Draper.

Access is limited to major cross streets and it is 23.8 mi (38.3 km) in length. It passes through the cities of Salt Lake City, West Valley City, Taylorsville, West Jordan, South Jordan, Riverton, Bluffdale, and Draper. It lies at approximately 3600 West. Because of how rapidly the west and south sides of the valley are growing, Bangerter Highway, which is six lanes wide for most of it length, is extremely congested and will soon be unable to serve the entire westside. The Legacy Highway is eventually planned to be constructed further west, at approximately 5600 West, to relieve traffic on the westside, but it is uncertain how far in the future this may be.
