Beer goggles

Beer goggles is a slang term for a phenomenon in which one's consumption of alcohol makes physically unattractive people appear beautiful. The term is often associated with the awkward experience of waking up the following morning to discover that the person lying next to you is less attractive than you had previously believed (see also coyote ugly).

Some police departments also have literal beer goggles, which distort vision to an approximation of drunkenness. These are used in education programs to teach people, often teenagers, about the danger of drunk driving.
