CyberSkin™ is the brand-name of a soft material that is intended to emulate the feel of human skin. It is made by the adult toy manufacturer Topco Sales. The company states that the technology behind CyberSkin™ is a "new Aerospace 601 computerized injection molding machine, originally designed by NASA engineers..."
Similar material is available under other brand names, such as Ultraskin, Eroskin, Softskin, Cyber Jel-lee, Futurotic and UR3.
While all synthetic skin materials are very soft, it is important to stress the proper care of any of these products. Cyberskin is very porous and tends to discolour and tear easily. Any adult toy should be cleaned after each use and allowed to air dry before being stored in a breathable bag. As with any soft plastic an anti-bacterial cleaner specially designed for adult toys is highly recommended, and is available wherever adult toys are sold. NEVER use alcohol or household cleaners as they will severely damage the material. After a Cyberskin, etc, toy is clean and dry either cornstarch or fine talcum powder should be applied to preserve the toy's soft texture. Skin oils, even from a hand, can discolour Cyberskin and the powder also creates a dry barrier to protect your toy when it is not in use.
Not only will not cleaning your adult toy properly drastically reduce its lifespan, an unclean toy is an unsafe toy. Do not expose yourself or your partner to dangerous bacteria that could be lurking within the pores of a product.
Any Cyberskin or similar toy may only be used with water-based lubricant. Silicone based lubricants, while safe for use with latex, will destroy cyberskin, as will any petroleum or oil based products. Never use massage oil or food products as a lubricant, especially not with toys.
