Luis Agote

Luis Agote (September 22, 1868-November 12, 1954) was an Argentinian doctor and researcher.

He was one of the first to perform a non-direct blood transfusion using sodium citrate as an anticoagulant. (While Agote was the first to perform this procedure in Latin America, the Belgian doctor Albert Hustin was the first to perform it world-wide.) The procedure took place in Rawson hospital in the city of Buenos Aires on November 9, 1914.
