User:Livajo

Salutations! My name is Levi. I am a 19-year-old sophomore at the University at Buffalo where I study linguistics.

My names

Livajo is an Esperantized version of my first name in real life, and ought to be pronounced "lee-VIE-oh", and Ливай, as it appears in my signature, is the Cyrillic transliteration of my name.

What I do around here

I make a lot of relatively minor contributions: grammar tweaks, catching speedy deletion candidates on Recent changes, adding interlanguage links and the like, although I also like to add tidbits of information that I happen to know to relevant articles when I read them. Thus my work tends to be spread out over many articles, although there are a few that I have created or fleshed out significantly (linguistic universal, Great Cipher...) and others that I have saved from almost certain deletion (Radomir, Blue Collar TV...).

Languages

As a linguistics student, I contribute more on languages than any other subject because that is the field in which I am most knowledgeable. Although I spoke only English until the age of 12 I now speak French and Esperanto pretty well, and am also studying (in decreasing order of proficiency) Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, German, Russian and Dutch.

Philosophy

I hold a rather "live and let live" attitude toward life, that is, I believe that everybody should be allowed to live as they please so long as they don't intentionally harm others in the process. As an atheist my morality is not based on any religious or philosophical school but rather primarily on observation and reflection.

My political beliefs resemble anarcho-communism more than anything else, but I will spare you my rants on contemporary society as Wikipedia is not the place for that.
