I wish you and your website all the best in the year of the Dog(2006). My name is James Ro, working for the Korean Overseas Information Service. It is my job to locate and correct errors or obsolete information about Korea. In this regard, and I am asking your assistance. Please note the following information from your site:

The website above refers to the sea lying between Korea and Japan as "Sea of Japan". The sea was originally called "East Sea", "Sea of Korea", and "Oriental Sea". However, they were replaced by "Sea of Japan" when Japan annexed Korea in 1910. As for Japan, the "Sea of Japan" is legitimate because it was endorsed by the decision of the 1929 Monaco Conference of the International Hydrographic Organization(IHO). But, for Korea, the decision of the Conference was unfair and unacceptable because Korea had no representation at the conference being under Japanese colonial rule which ended in 1945.

Therefore, Koreans have never accepted the misnomer and have made consistent efforts to restore the name "Ease Sea" since her liberation. A number of Korean scholars, civic groups, and government agencies at home and abroad have participated in the activities to encourage the use of "East Sea", and such efforts have begun to yield remarkable results thanks to the understanding of the international community. In this context, I politely ask you to take an action on this. Please use "East Sea" and "Sea of Japan" at the same time on your map.
